Sigmund Freud would have a field day analysing the Oscar Pistorius trial, especially comparing Oscar’s attractions to Reeva Steenkamp to his mother. Photos shown of Reeva with her natural hair colour during the trail, bear a striking resemblance to Oscar’s mother.
Freud coined the term “Oedipus Complex,” for his theory that boys become sexually fixated on their mothers. A recent study had similar conclusions that support the sexual imprinting hypothesis, which claims that people create a sexual template based on their opposite-sex parent. Basically you are subconsciously attracted to people with similar characteristics and likeness to one of your parents, later in life.
