iPhoneography has become a mainstream phenomenon. And with the normalisation of high-quality instagrams, it’s in your best social interests to up your skills with an iPhone camera.
1. Camera+
Consistently recognised as one of the best camera apps out there, its main hallmark is its ability to allow its owner to adjust exposure and set the focus separately. It offers a variety of shooting modes (including a stabilizer, timer, and burst mode), a solid digital zoom, and a grid to help you compose your photos well.
2. VSCO Cam
VSCO Cam treads the middle-ground between Instagram and Camera+. It’s a very powerful editing tool with hundreds of filters, but it also serves as a platform on which to share your creations.
You can also upload all your photos to your own page on VSCO Grid, which allows you to copyright your photos or release them as Creative Commons.
3. Photo Editor by Aviary
This is the photography app that seems to have a little bit of everything. You can apply filters, touch up blemishes and even whiten teeth. You can also add that classic-style meme text to your photo, or throw on a sticker.
It’s not as powerful as the other two, but it’s free.
4. Adobe Photoshop Touch
WARNING: Do not download if you don’t already use Adobe Photoshop. This one is for the purists, for those people who are actual photographers and need to edit on the go.
It isn’t intuitive, it isn’t easy, but it is all-powerful. It’s pretty much Photoshop in your pocket.
5. Facetune
If you’re into selfies – this is the app for you. It’s specially designed to be able to enhance portrait photos of people’s faces. It also gets rid of pimples, smooths out wrinkles and whitens teeth.
It’s easy to use too.
