The never-ending Krejcir saga has taken another wild turn, when it was revealed that two Hawks members – linked to the Czech fugitive – were arrested.
“The officers are linked with Krejcir’s kidnapping case only,” said Hawks spokesman Paul Ramaloko.
Ja – ONLY! Glad it’s not more than that, otherwise they’d really be in trouble!
“A 41-year-old officer was involved in the kidnapping and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm that Krejcir has been arrested for,” National police spokesman Lt-Gen Solomon Makgale said.
Makgale continued, admitting that investigations were still ongoing. He also revealed that the possibility of further arrests could not be ruled out.
Meanwhile, The New Age is claiming that a few more top police officers are expected to be arrested later today. They will stand accused of shielding Krejcir from investigation, and supplying him with sensitive information.
TNA goes on to report that officers tipped off Krejcir’s alleged accomplice, Desai Lupondo, about his impending arrest. They were too late though as officers were already at his gate when he was trying to escape.
