It’s a special feeling I get every year, when I see my first Christmas Beetle. It conjures up all sorts of feelings, emotions and memories. One of which would be the boarding school days, where we referred to them as “Joeys.” We would catch them, shake them around in our cupped hands, and then release them into the air again. Then we would laugh when they flew into the wall.
Cruel children.
