Kimberley Rose had always dreamed of being a superstar on the world stage, but she was diagnosed with cancer before she could make her dream a reality. This prompted local band, The Plastics to step in and help make her dream come true.
Upon being diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2010, Kim’s brother Justin called up a school-friend – Sasha Righini of The Plastics – and asked him if Kim could record a song with them, in the hope that it would keep her spirits up and help her fight off the disease.
The band obliged, and it wasn’t long before Righini had written a song that Kim could record with the band.
A day before departing for treatment in South Korea, Kim was asked to come back to the studio one last time to record the end of her single. Not able to leave her wheelchair, she was helped into the studio to take her place alongside the microphone. She stood on her own two feet, all alone, and reached every single high note.
Two weeks later, Kim passed away. This song was released recently.
