Last week’s Antimov competition challenged amateur engineers to build robots that broke one of the Three Laws or Robotics set out by Isaac Asimov – which you’d know if you’d read I, Robot (nerd) or saw that movie where Will Smith had the robot arm. No, the robot arm was not called Eva Mendez. The winner of the competition set itself and a bunch of teddy bears on fire. It was rad.Asimov’s three laws are basically not to harm humans, to obey humans, and to avoid damage. Robot porn is okay. Robot-builder Dennis Brunner took first prize with his robot, which massacred a teddy bear birthday party by exploding in the process of cutting a birthday cake, setting fire to its teddy bear friends. Again, this is rad.
Other entries, including the exploding chef robot and suicidal lego robot are also worth checking out.
