Madonna has topped the latest celebrity earnings list, which has raised more than a few pairs of eyebrows considering that her latest album flopped. So how did she make a whopping $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013 you ask? For one, she embarked on a world-tour with an average ticket price of $100. Guess how much she grossed on that walkabout? $305 million. Clean.
Add that $305 million to merchandise sales, fragrance sales, a clothing line and investments, and it’s not hard to see how she ended up on top of the list.
Forbes speaks with agents, managers, producers and insiders to estimate the related earnings for each celebirty on the list.
Steven Spielberg came in second, earning an estimated $100 million.
Simon Cowell, Howard Stern, and author E.L. James (of 50 Shades of Grey) all tied for third place, with estimated earnings of $95 million a piece.
