American R&B singer Brandy, famous for songs like ‘The Boy is Mine’, was the surprise guest at Mandela Sports and Culture Day in Johannesburg. And the surprise guest got quite a surprise when she came out to perform in front of an audience of about 40 people, with the stadium lights on.
No one knew she was performing, and although tens of thousands of people attended the event, most of them left after the sport and the rest trickled out during the music segment. By the time Brandy came on stage she was left to sing for 89,960 empty seats, and the people who hadn’t made it out yet.
She was even snubbed by the SABC, who ended their broadcast of the concert before she came on stage.
