Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the planet. This shot of him winning the 100m dash at the track and field world championships in Moscow has become an instant classic and is arguably the best sports pic of 2013… So far, anyway. What you have here is the fastest man on earth – named bolt – pictured with a bolt of lightning. Yes, poetry does actually happen in real life.

The pictured was snapped by one of Olivier Morin’s remote-controlled cameras, which were set up at the finish line of the race. The lucky photographer has this to say:

In my 25 years as a photographer I’ve never had an uncontrollable external element make a photo like this, and I imagine if I tried again for a similar result for the next 50 years, it wouldn’t happen again. So, I only really give myself credit for one percent of this picture!
