Australian Politician Thinks Islam Is A Country, Doesn’t Know Difference Between Christianity And Judaism [VIDEO]

It is always a golden moment when a politician is running for election in hopes of representing an ultra-nationalist party, and thinks Islam is a country. During an interview for a local news station, Stephanie Banister confused religious beliefs and terminology resulting in this cringe worthy interview.
Banister was asked to explain her views on immigration, and responded with:
I don’t oppose Islam as a country but I do feel their laws should not be welcome here in Australia.
Banister mixed up the term “haram”, which in Islam is something that is forbidden by God and the Islamic religious book the Qur’an. The hopeful nominee was asked about her views on Islam. She responded:
Less than 2% of Australians follow haram.
Banister continued:
Jews aren’t under haram. They have their own religion which follows Jesus Christ.
