This might change your mind on whether you want to buy the Samsung or the iPhone. According to the Wall Street Journal, the FBI can now “remotely activate the microphones in phones running Google’s Android software to record conversations”.
The FBI have been investing heavily in hackers over the past couple of years to increase their “information gathering” capacities. It is already well established that the organisation can hack into your laptop’s camera and microphone to record and take photos of you without you knowing.
They’ve gone quiet on the issue (of course), but for the super paranoid we recommend sticking a piece of Prestik over your webcam and talk in code on the phone about “those things” you’re taking to Rocking the Daisies.
