A boardwalk in Venice Beach, California was the scene of a gruesome hit and run on Saturday when a driver of a Dodge Avenger ploughed through a crowd of pedestrians, injuring 11 and killing one person. The victim, Alice Gruppioni was on her honeymoon.
The driver then fled the scene.
Eyewitnesses claim the driver was aiming for the pedestrians when he made his way onto the popular ocean walkway. Other eye witnesses said a woman was seen hanging on to the hood of the car as it drove down the boardwalk.

Bodies were flying in the air and people were screaming. It was absolute mayhem.
The driver of the Dodge Avenger, Nathan Campbell reportedly handed himself into the police on Saturday evening. According to a police spokesperson, Campbell was arrested on charges of murder after questioning. Campbell’s bail has been set at $1 million.
Of the 11 people injured, 10 were hospitalised. Two remain critical.
