Yesterday, Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) started in Moscone West Center in San Francisco, with Apple lovers speculating as to what exactly the company would be unveiling. There were hardly any leaks, but a sea of rumours. The secrecy made the excitement even greater. The major announcement was the overhaul of the operating system: introducing iOS 7.
This is what the new iOS 7 is offering.
1. Control center
The operating system will change the way users interact with their iPhones or iPads. Users will be able to swipe the control center up from the bottom, displaying a frosted glass appearance. The control center will enable users to access Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with a lot more ease.
2. AirDrop
This new feature will allow users to share files with other iPhone or iPad users via Wi-Fi.
3. Security features
If your iPhone is lost or stolen the new feature will de-activate your iPhone. Meaning that unless that pesky thief has your AppleID, there is no way of re-activating your phone.
4. Apple for drivers
iOS for the car was unveiled. This allows a driver to access Siri, Maps and Messages, among other things from your car’s in-dash screen. iPhone users can sync their phones with certain cars.
5. New camera
Apple seems to have taken a page out of Instagram’s book. With the new camera the user can switch modes and even apply filters similar to that of Instagram.
