Yes, it’s finally here.
We know some of you have been getting frustrated. You take an amazing shot, or someone does of you. It’s filtered perfectly on Instagram, posted, and then it disappears into the black hole of the internet. But don’t you fret, there is now a way to avoid having to reload your masterpieces onto Facebook just to tag yourself, or your friends.
Introducing “Photos Of You”.
According to Instagram, “One of the most common things people do on Instagram is @ mention their friends when they want to add them to a photo.”
That habit was duly noted, and included in the latest update to Instagram. The next time you upload your photo, tag the people or places in the image.
The feature is only available to the photographer, so you can have control over what images you share with whom.
The Photos of You sections on your profile will contain all the pictures that have been added of you, and yes, there is an option to see the photo first before it’s added to your profile.
Nothing gets by without your approval!
The Photos of You section will not be visible to other people until 16 May, giving you a chance to get familiar with your new favourite feature.
You can find more information about how Photos Of You works and how to control your visibility at help.instagram.com.
