You can get a helluva lot of apartment in New York city for $2 million. And you can get way too much for, say, $10 million. But what exactly do you get for $125 million?
Just a note: I see it as no coincidence that tomorrow’s Powerball lottery is sitting at $116 million (R1 Billion) and I’m pretty sure the seller will accept an offer of $110 million. Which will leave you with $6 million (R55 million). Shame! Get tickets here. I have!
Now it would be naughty to call this place an ‘apartment.’ It’s a penthouse – and in New York city a penthouse can be the equivalent to a Bishopscourt mansion. Which this, evidently, is!
Listen to this, from ABC:
The Pierre Hotel penthouse on Fifth Avenue has officially been listed for $125 million. It occupies the 41st, 42nd, and 43rd floors of the hotel and has 16 rooms, 6 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces and 4 terraces. Stock market analyst Martin Zweig, who died in February at the age of 70, was the previous owner. Zweig bought the home for $21.5 million in 1999.
16 rooms? Ja – you see what I mean? This ain’t no ‘flat.’
And I tell you something else – it’s not on one floor, either. This from the Daily Mail:
The Pierre Hotel penthouse on Fifth Avenue occupies the 41st, 42nd, and 43rd floors of the Upper East Side hotel and boasts 23-foot ceilings.
God forbid you can touch the ceiling!
