According to Apple blogger, John Gruber, iOS (the operating software run on iPhones, iPads and iPods) is getting a face lift – a big one. Insider info is that Apple engineers – who are permitted to carry around unreleased products and software – have a filter on their screens, so side viewers can’t sneak a peak.
The filter makes it harder for people to see “the apparently rather significant system-wide UI overhaul.” Gurber also mentioned that Apple was lagging behind on iOS 7, and has reportedly pulled engineers who are working on other projects to help in order to have iOS7 finished on time.
Another Apple enthusiast, Rene Ritchie talked about the influence of Jonathon Ive on the new OS, who was promoted to Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc.
Ive’s work is apparently making many people really happy, but will also apparently make rich-texture-loving designers sad.
