Being a rapper is good for business. Or rather, “bidness, yo”.
So much so that Forbes has compiled a list of the top ten highest-grossing rap artists of the last year, subtly titled “Hip Hop Cash Kings”
And it goes somethin’ a little like THIS, fool.
“Imma let you finish, Kanye, but Jay-Z is the richest rapper of ALL TIME!”
Interestingly enough, Lil Wayne made most of that tidy sum behind bars this year. Apparently jail time is a brand plus in the music industry.
In other news, economics is soon to be translated into language that all the pimps, playas and hos can understand.
This, from the AV Club:
The film (based on E. Raymond Brown’s book) features various noted playas like Ice-T, KRS-One, Too $hort, Dr. Cornell West, and Norman Lear musing on “the interplay between pimps and prostitutes, and how that power dynamic explains wider political and corporate relationships in the U.S. and abroad.”
Now we be bawlin’.
