Well, this is awkward.

The Star, a Johannesburg newspaper in the recently sold INM South Africa stable ran with a poorly placed advertisment in the February 19 morning edition.

The advertisement for a local insurance company depicts a stylised prosthetic leg right beneath the head and shoulders of paralympian, Pistorius.

Contacted for comment, a Star spokesperson said that the placement of the advertisement was unintentional, and was booked without prior editorial approval.

Pistorius made international headlines for shooting and killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. His murder trial is ongoing.
