Its summertime and the living is easy down at the V&A Waterfront with the Scintillating Sounds of Summer free concerts at the V&A Amphitheatre between 19 and 27 January.
Andrew James and The Steady Tiger are a duo whose songs can be described as lyrical storytelling, they kick start the weekend concerts on Saturday 12 January. On Sunday 13 January there will be a double bill beginning with acoustic guitar virtuoso Tombstone Pete who will be followed by folk-pop group Beatenberg at 18h30.
Acoustic rock group Plush take to the stage on Saturday 19 January. Their performance will include their popular radio hits as well songs from their recently released album. On Sunday 20 January gypsy jazz band, Manouche, will introduce a touch of nostalgia.
If electronic music with an African flavour grabs you, don’t miss TheCITY on Saturday 26 January. At 18h45 they hand the stage over to the legendary Bed on Bricks.
Ending the first month of the New Year will be the Lee Gold who will perform on Sunday 27 January. Lee performs regularly with her own Trio and Quartet at many jazz clubs and other venues in and around Cape Town.
