Linkin Park kicks off their South African tour at the Cape Town Stadium today. They will then move to Joburg for a concert at the FNB Stadium on Saturday. The gates for this evening will open at 17h00. KONGOS will kick off the show at 20h00, followed by Linkin Park at 21h00.

The City of Cape Town has also put out the below public transport plan. People are urged to arrive early using public transport or to avoid peak traffic if not using public transport.
Public transport:
As no parking at or near the stadium will be available to the public, event ticket holders are encouraged to park in the City Bowl and use the free bus shuttle between the Civic Bus Station and the stadium. Normal fares apply to all normal train and normal bus services (Table View, Gardens, Waterfront, Airport). No additional trains or buses will be provided on normal rotes before the event. After the event trains will be provided on the Fish Hoek, Bellville and Strand lines, and buses on the Civic Centre – Table View and Civic Centre – Garden routes.
Metrorail service:
Metrorail services to and from Cape Town will run as normal before the concert and passengers will be required to pay the applicable fee.
Limited special train services will be available after the concert and will be free on presentation of a valid concert stub. Trains will depart promptly after the concert at the following times:
1. From Cape Town to Fish Hoek – every 15 minutes, from 23h30 – 00h15
2. From Cape Town to Bellville (via Monte Vista) – every 15 minutes, from 23h30 – 00h00
3. From Cape Town to Strand (via Goodwood) – at 00h00

Event Shuttle Buses
First bus from the Civic Centre bus station in Hertzog Boulevard departs at 16h00. Thereafter a bus will leave every 15 minutes or when full with the last bus leaving the Stadium bus station at 01h00. There will be no shuttle bus from the University of Cape Town or Hout Bay. This service is free of charge on presentation of a valid event ticket.
MyCiTi service:
The standard hours of operation and fares will apply for the Civic Centre to Table View, Waterfront and Gardens routes. Passengers will be required to use the myconnect card to travel to the Civic Centre bus station. Cards can be purchased at any open Revenue Kiosk or call 0800 656463.
Free special services (on presentation of a valid concert ticket stub) will be provided after the concert from the Civic Centre to:
Table View (trunk & feeder) and Gardens:
First bus will leave the Civic Centre bus station at midnight (00h00); second bus will leave 30 minutes later; last bus will leave after midnight at 01h10 and the last feeder buses will leave Table View Station at 01h40.
People with disabilities:
Dedicated parking has been allocated on DF Malan Drive for those attendees with disabilities who wish to use the Stadium shuttle. Only people with an official disability permit from the City will be allowed to park in this dedicated parking area. Ticket-holders must formally request access to the dedicated parking bays for people with disabilities by sending an e-mail to Mike Lord or Donne.
Road closures
Below is listed the road closures which will take effect on 7 November. Public transport services operating in the Green Point and CBD areas may be subject to localised deviations from 14:00 on 7 November 2012.
