Prince Charles is heir to Dracula’s bloodline. That is, according to the Romanian National Tourist Office, who have been peddling a claim that the Prince Of Wales is the descendent of one-time medieval and quite mad Romanian ruler, Vlad The Impaler – the brutal figure who is wildly believed to be the inspiration for the folklore villain and blood-sucking vampire, Dracula.

The Romanian National Tourist Office is trumpeting the lineage in a brochure distributed at the World Travel Market, a leading industry event which opened in London on Monday.

The promotion has emerged a year after The (Dark) Prince Of Wales highlighted publicly-available information that he was, in fact, descended from Vlad Tepes on a British magazine television show. Charles can trace his lineage back through his great grandmother Queen Mary, the consort of George V, to Vlad IV, the half brother of the notorious, mustachioed ruler.

Charles also own property in the rural Transylvanian village of Viscri, which you – yes, you – can rent as a guest house during certain periods of the year.

When not recounting his blood-soaked lineage, Prince Charles enjoys speaking out of the side of his mouth, tending to his garden, and indulging his love for classical architecture.
