During their set at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, Dave Grohl said it would be “a while” before fans got to see the Foo Fighters onstage again. He also introduced the set-closing Everlong as the “last chance to dance!” Since then Foo fans have been speculating as to what exactly was going on.
Yesterday, Grohl confirmed that the band was “most definitely not breaking up.” However, he did announce that he is “not sure” when the Foo Fighters are going to play again.
Coutney Love must be over the moon.
Here is part of the statement Grohl made:
Yes … I was serious. I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It’s one of the reasons we’re still here. Make sense? I never want to NOT be in this band. So, sometimes it’s good to just… put it back in the garage for a while … But, no gold watches or vacations just yet.
