Earlier this afternoon, expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema continued his defence of the striking Lonmin mineworkers when he went to the Marikana Police Station to lay murder charges against the police who shot dead 34 of their colleagues last Thursday.
Expelled ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema and Marikana residents have today laid murder charges against the police who shot dead 34 of their colleagues last Thursday.
Malema addressed residents and mineworkers briefly before heading to the Marikana Police Station to lay the murder charges.
I want an independent investigation into this. People have died and we need answers, because I don’t trust President Zuma and his inquiry.
He also criticised President Jacob Zuma and said the commission of inquiry into the Marikana shootings is politically motivated.
