As we all know, matric dance season is here. For hormonal teenage girls, and high schoolers in general, this is a very stressful time of the year. Even if you’ve got your dress, car, before- and after-parties, and everything in-between sorted, you still have to find the perfect date. So why not ask Chad le Clos?
Melanie Olhaus did just that – bunking school on Tuesday to welcome Team SA back from the London Olympics, she stood in the crowd with a large poster reading: “Chad, will you be my matric dance date?” Noticing the sign, the Olympian walked over to her, and said yes. Speaking to Die Beeld, Olhaus said:
I cried when he said yes. I still can’t believe it.
Chad’s offer is accepted on the condition that he doesn’t have any overseas or travel commitments.
Asked what they would talk about on their dream date, Melanie said she had no idea, but that she would be happy to just sit and stare at him all night. “He’s gorgeous and so cute. Nobody else is allowed to dance with him … he’s mine for the evening.”
I have to wonder if this will open the floodgates to more groupies running after Chad… More importantly, we may have a real danger in that Melanie might turn into this:
