In a move that no one saw coming, Brad Pitt is said to be making a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, with Pitt, obviously, reprising his role as the quirky stunt double Cliff Booth.
With a script written by Tarantino himself, Brad reportedly got Tarantino’s blessing to show Se7en director David Fincher the script – which focuses on subsequent adventures of the Booth character.
In an unexpected twist, the project is being developed at Netflix, where Fincher holds a first-look deal, as reported by Deadline. No way Tarantino would helm his final film for a streaming service, so letting Fincher loose on this story seems an acceptable compromise for the legendary director.
Details about the plot and how closely it will follow the original film are being kept under wraps, and it’s also unclear whether Leonardo DiCaprio will return as fading star Rick Dalton.
Pitt’s return to the role of Cliff Booth makes sense given the character’s popularity, which also earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Since Booth is a fictional character, his storyline could go in any direction, which is an exciting prospect for any director.
Tarantino, who typically directs his own scripts, had plans for his 10th and final film, The Movie Critic, but those plans fell apart last year. This might just be a perfect in-between project for him until we see the final Tarantino film on screen.
As for Pitt, we’re sure he would relish playing the chillest bad-ass ever one more time… in Hollywood.
