South African pop sensation Tyla was awarded World Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles last night.
The 23-year-old triumphed over fellow nominees Burna Boy, Central Cee, Tems, and YG Marley.
In addition to her win, Tyla received nominations for R&B Song of the Year with Water and Dance Song of the Year for her remix of Water with Marshmello.
Other notable winners at the iHeartRadio Awards included Taylor Swift, who took home nine awards. Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things was crowned Song of the Year, while Billie Eilish won Album of the Year for Hit Me Hard and Soft.
Other artists recognized included Gracie Abrams, SZA, Jelly Roll, GloRilla, Sabrina Carpenter, and Green Day, all of whom received awards as well.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards recognise the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app.
