Lamborghini’s local importer unveiled the Italian brand’s all-new Temerario supercar at an event in Johannesburg this week.

Serving as the successor to the Huracán as Lamborghini’s ‘entry-level’ supercar, the Temerario will be available in showrooms for a staggering price of R7,525,000.

“Temerario offers an innovative and emotional driving experience at the same time. The e-4WD system including real torque vectoring is a perfect combination,” says Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, Rouven Mohr.

The Temerario introduces a cutting-edge hybrid powertrain and a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor that pairs with three electric motors to deliver a total output of 677kW. In case you’re not a petrolhead, what this means is that if you put your foot down hard, the Temerario will get you to 100km/h in 2.7 seconds.

“On the one hand we have a car that is absolutely precise and effective on the track, on the other we have a more typically rear-wheel drive character, oriented towards maximum involvement for the driver.”

It’s the first super sports car in the history of the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based brand to be equipped with a V8 twin-turbo engine paired with electric motors, and only the second vehicle in the HPEV (High-Performance Electrified Vehicle) range for Lamborghini.
