That Woman Who Claims She’s Madeleine McCann Releases Bombshell DNA Test

Remember that Polish girl who claimed she is Madeleine McCann? Well, she's back and she's doubling down on her claims, even when the evidence was going sideways for a bit.

Remember Julia Wandelt — who also goes by Julia Wendell or Julia Faustyna — the Polish girl who has been claiming she is Madeleine McCann, with the help of a psychic?

Yeah, she’s back and she’s doubling down on her claims, even when the evidence was going sideways for a bit.

Julia has alleged that a new set of DNA test results “strongly support” her theory that she’s related to Gerry McCann, father of the missing British child.

The 23-year-old first stirred global headlines in 2023 when she launched the Instagram account @IamMadeleineMcCann, publicly questioning whether she could be the toddler who vanished during a family vacation in Portugal back in 2007. Her claims captivated the internet—until April 2023, when a DNA test unceremoniously burst her bubble, confirming she wasn’t the missing daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann.

Instead, the results revealed her Polish, Lithuanian, and Romanian heritage, which closed the case. Wandelt even issued an apology to the McCanns for the ordeal.

But hold onto your seats—because Julia’s back, and she’s not leaving quietly. Earlier this month, she reemerged on Instagram under a new handle, @amijuliawandelt, armed with what she calls “new evidence.”

According to her, a “world expert” (mysteriously unnamed, of course) analysed her DNA and found similarities in key features like eyes, teeth, and voice—features that allegedly match the missing toddler.

In a series of posts dripping with confidence, Wandelt referred to Kate and Gerry McCann as “my parents” and boldly claimed that her updated DNA results indicate she is “part British, part Irish.”

The McCanns, however, aren’t biting. Both Kate and Gerry have reportedly “refused” to participate in any DNA tests—though Wandelt remains determined to change that.

Adding fuel to the fire, Wandelt claims her mysterious source analysed “hair obtained from the floor of the crime scene in Portugal” and “saliva from the bed quilt” where Madeleine disappeared—yielding, she says, a suspiciously precise 69.23% match.

“The genetic evidence strongly supports that (Gerry) McCann could be Julia Wandelt’s biological father, as the data aligns perfectly with a parent-child relationship,” the source allegedly concluded. “If this analysis is accurate and properly derived from their DNA samples, the relationship between McCann and Julia Wandelt is biologically consistent with that of a father and daughter.”

Let’s not forget Wandelt’s previous attempts to prove her case: She’s submitted samples for three different forensic tests, plus a 23andMe-style ancestry analysis. On social media, she’s highlighted physical similarities between herself and Madeleine. She even made an appearance on Dr. Phil, where she doubled down and rejected her biological parents’ claims that she stole her own birth certificate and childhood photos to hide her true identity.

Wandelt’s spokesperson, Surjit Singh Clair, told the Daily Mail that Julia is eager to have both the McCanns and her Polish parents take DNA tests—though neither party seems willing to play ball.

“Despite indicators she is related to Gerry McCann, neither he nor Kate will take a DNA test,” Clair told the outlet. “Police have denied organizing a test after hearing Julia was Polish on the BBC, but even if she was just ‘a random Polish person,’ how can they possibly explain her DNA being linked to the crime scene?”

“They’ve spent $39.7 million on this investigation, and now they won’t spend $119 on a DNA test—even though she offered to pay for it.”

As the drama unfolds, The Post has reached out to the McCanns for comment. For now, the world is left waiting for the next twist in this never-ending mystery—the story of a little girl who vanished without a trace and a young woman determined to prove she might just be her.
