Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan let slip in an article this weekend that his old friend David Coulthard got engaged to his Swedish model girlfriend, Sigrid Silversand.
According to Eddie’s article in boatinternational.com, Coulthard popped the question during a recent romantic trip to Mauritius.
Followers of F1 might recall Coulthard and Belgian TV star Karen Minier splitting up in 2022 after nine years of marriage, with the tabloids making a big deal a year later after he was spotted strolling hand-in-hand with then-28-year-old Swedish model girlfriend Silversand.
“I’ve got to send a very special congratulations to my old mate David Coulthard, who’s just run off to Mauritius and got engaged to a Swedish model 23 years his junior! She’s taller than him, which I like to remind him about as often as I can.”
But that’s all in the past now, so meet the soon-to-be Mrs Coulthard.

Meanwhile, Eddie Jordan seems to be enjoying the perfect summer in Cape Town, where he has a house ‘just south’ of the city with the ‘ocean just 30 metres away’. Writing in his column, the F1 legend says he loves it down here and even enjoyed a Friday lunch with fellow F1 royalty Ralph Schumacher at Mano’s in Green Point. Perhaps one of our loyal readers may have spotted them.
Coulthard is also no stranger to our city, so perhaps we might see him and the new missus-to-be soon. There have been rumblings of an F1 race around the foreshore in the near future, so spotting F1 legends in Cape Town might become normal. Monaco is so 2023, and this place is packed to the rafter with models.
