Mystery surrounds the death of a woman who fell from the 25th floor of The Box building at 9 Lower Burg Street in the Cape Town CBD late last week.

The woman’s lifeless body was found on Friday last week, and authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

While an inquest docket has been registered and authorities are actively probing the incident, social media users have been speculating about what caused the fall, with one witness commenting on Facebook:

“The girl’s pants were up to her knees and her clothes were torn. It is suspected to be suicide but given what her clothes looked like; it is more likely she was sexually assaulted”.

According to Cape {town} Etc, SAPS’ Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the incident, saying “The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation.”
