Graham “Dingo” Dinkelman, a well-known South African naturalist and YouTuber, died after suffering serious consequences from a green mamba snake bite.

Dinkelman, 44, was bitten in September of this year and because of an allergy to the venom, suffered a severe allergic response that landed him in a medically induced coma.

Getaway reports that Dinkelman’s family released a statement in his memory, reflecting on his commitment to animal conservation, particularly African species like elephants, rhinos, and lions – as well as his fondness for their pet giraffe, Elliot.

Although Dingo’s work with reptiles earned him widespread notoriety, his family said his greatest interest was spending time with them.
