Now, with whispers of Prince William possibly ascending the throne sooner than anyone imagined, the royal inner circle is in a tailspin.

The Daily Beast released an article dramatically titled “Secret Plans for King Charles’ Death Are Already Tearing the Royal Family Apart,” noting how the “planning and positioning” of Prince William’s eventual reign as King William V began even as King Charles seems to be doing relatively well.

The mere thought of ‘King William’ has everyone on high alert. Reports reveal that there have been several “what-happens-now” moments of panic and uncertainty among courtiers, family members, and royal aides this year, fueled by growing fears over King Charles’ health crisis.

Courtiers and aides are said to be particularly concerned about their future once William becomes King, with the Daily Beast noting that “few would blame them, given the brutal way Queen Elizabeth’s staff were sacked upon her death, for quietly updating their LinkedIn profiles.”

The panic over the royal succession may settle a little deeper as King Charles is set to temporarily “pause” his cancer treatment while taking part in a high-profile overseas visit after getting the go-ahead from doctors, according to reports. It is understood that the 75-year-old monarch will travel for 11 days with Queen Camilla and will continue his treatment upon his return from Australia and Samoa.

As for Prince Harry, he remains on the outskirts and it won’t be so easy for him to wiggle his way back into the royal circle once his brother becomes King. What is less obvious is that, per the Daily Beast’s claims, King Charles’ eventual passing will massively impact Queen Camilla, who has merely been “tolerated” by Prince William but “never liked, let alone loved.”

Uncertainty looms over Camilla’s future residence when Prince William takes the throne, as questions arise about her lifestyle and financial independence—though it’s worth noting she does boast a substantial net worth of her own.

There are even rumours that King Charles wants to boot the disgraced Epstein-affiliated Prince Andrew from his home, specifically so that Camilla can live in the Royal Lodge when he’s gone. Apparently, the speculations go that Andrew is refusing to do so, counting on it being the least of William’s concerns once he’s king.
