With the Southern Hemisphere school rugby season now complete, NextGenXV released their annual Top 20 ranking for the region’s schools, and just like the big boys, South Africa tops the list.
Their rankings consider not just the overall results, but also the relative strength of the opposition faced.
Schools from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa were ranked, and Stelenbosch’s Paul Roos Gymnasium managed to battle themselves to the top ranking after an exhilarating rugby season featuring emphatic wins over, amongst others, rival Grey College (36-3), Bishops (42-7), Paarl Gim (23-17), and Wynberg (50-25).
Paarl Gim, Grey College, and Affies also made the top 10 list, at 5th, 6th, and 8th place respectively.
You can check out the full season’s results here, but expect to see some of these laaties in green and gold in the next few years.
