Swiss officials have revealed a truly cruel and horrific femicide case involving a former Miss Switzerland finalist and her scumbag husband.
The woman was strangled to death and savagely dismembered by her husband, who then “pureed” her remains in a blender. I wish I could say this is made up.
Kristina Joksimovic was 38 when she was found violently slain in her home in February in Binningen, near the city of Basel in Switzerland. Her butchered body was discovered on the night of February 13.
Her 41-year-old husband, who was only referred to as ‘Thomas’ in local media reports, confessed to the killing, per New York Post.
The husband of the model, and father to their two daughters, confessed to killing her in March, claiming it was an act of self-defence after she allegedly attacked him with a knife. However, medical experts uncovered no signs supporting his claim. Instead, they determined the chilling truth that her death was caused by strangulation.
Joksimovic’s body was then dismembered with a jigsaw, knife and garden shears, according to an autopsy report obtained by Swiss outlet BZ Basel.
Several of her body parts were then chopped up with a hand blender, “pureed” and dissolved in a chemical solution, according to the report.
Thomas was arrested the day after her body was discovered. Just a month earlier, he had told investigators a different story—claiming he found her dead and, in a panic, dismembered her body in their laundry room.
He was taken into custody but had appealed for his release, which was rejected on Wednesday by the country’s federal court in Lausanne.
The ruling, which brought horrific new details about the murder to light, said the ongoing investigation has revealed “concrete indications of a mental illness” in the case, according to Swiss outlet BZ Basel.
Prosecutors also said in Wednesday’s update that Thomas showed “a noticeably high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife” and trying to cover it up.
They noted that this was not the first time he had strangled his wife, although this time it led to her death. A former partner also alleged he once grabbed the beauty queen by the neck and slammed her head into a wall.
Joksimovic, who had once been crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland, made it to the finals of the Miss Switzerland competition in 2007, according to 20 Minuten. She later transitioned into entrepreneurship, running her own business as a catwalk coach, where she mentored model Dominique Rinderknecht in preparation for the 2013 Miss Universe pageant.
Thomas was a successful entrepreneur, and their family lived in a large home with a picturesque view overlooking Basel. According to 20 Minuten, they presented themselves as the picture-perfect family on social media.
Just weeks before Joksimovic’s death, an Instagram post captured her and Thomas enjoying a romantic “couple’s getaway” on Lake Lucerne, painting an idyllic scene for the outside world.
May this man rot, slow and painfully.
