South Africa’s ultimate outdoor music festival in Swellendam returns 6-9 February 2025 for a reunion at the river with phase 1 artists announced.

Australia’s Hollow Coves, and local legends Francois Van Coke, Matthew Mole, The Black Cat Bones, Droomsindroom, Albert Frost, Ben Dey, Die Piesangskille, Warongx, Murray, Lucy Kruger and The Lost Boys, Freddy L, Luukhanyo & The Hii Rollers and Unyazi.

With less than 6 months to go, the Up The Creek 2025 countdown begins now! Early Bird tickets for the four-day Summer festival went on sale on Friday 23 August to much creekerdom, and SOLD OUT IN ONE HOUR! When Creekers creek, they creek!

Established in 1990, the music festival continues to grow from riverbank to riverbank and now returns in 2025 after a sell-out in 2024 with over 2,500 attendees – the second-highest gathering in the festival’s history!

Nonetheless, it will always remain intimate (limited to 3,000 Creekers) and filled with great local (and now international) music, lekker food, short queues, and a whole lot of gees.

In October last year, Up The Creek made (big river) waves with the announcement that local hitmaker and muso, Jeremy Loops, along with BreakOut Events founder and event-industry veteran, Damon Forbes, were proud to join the Creeker family with a part buy-in partnership for the iconic, local 2024 music festival just outside Cape Town.

In 2025, Jeremy and Damon will take over the reins as full festival owners! Both Jeremy and Damon have years of entertainment and live event experience under their belts and along with the original team, look to bring in some new waters, with an international twist and more local oomph than ever before.

Next year’s festival is set to take place between 6-9 February 2025, at the much-loved, original farm on the banks of the Breede River just outside of Swellendam in the Cape. By now, Creekers know they’ll be getting some of the freshest sounds on the local music scene, plus an international injection from Australia, for the first time ever!

Oz’s Hollow Coves, a dynamic indie folk group hailing from Brisbane, blend an earthy folk sound, acoustic melodies & vocal harmonies. Quoting influences such as Angus & Julia Stone, Ben Howard, & The Paper Kites, the boys have set out to deliver their own brand of indie folk across the world.

The festival is now calling all their loyal Creekers who have made the vibe what it is today, to grab their festie-besties and join in celebrating the return of the ultimate outdoor music festival.
