Golf players chilling at the Skukuza Golf Club’s restaurant on Monday night, August 12, were treated to a spectacular wild sighting that played out right in front of them.
According to Jean Rossouw, the club’s greenkeeper, some okes were putting their feet up on the deck just after 7PM, having a couple of cold ones and a chow after a day of golf, when two lions rocked up and nailed an impala right on the green.
Rossouw told Lowveld Media that the lions started feasting on it first, and after a while, four hyenas came along and tried to get in on the action, too.
But what happened next was even more stunning. An uninvited crocodile came out of the river onto the green, after which the lions made away with the carcass leaving the reptile to feast on some of the scraps.
Then, it was the hyena’s turn, with their cheekiness and opportunistic mannerisms in full swing in the video, as the scavengers brazenly edge closer to the giant crocodile for a little bite of their own.
Now that’s a golfing day for the books! Skukuza Golf Club might just be the wildest golf course in the world.
