The Duke of Sussex is entering a new decade in September, and an eye-popping cash gift awaits him as he ventures into his 40s.

While Harry’s estranged brother Prince William received a ceremonial bell concert at Westminster Abbey on the milestone birthday, the Duke of Sussex will be getting a hefty cash payout for his.

The huge payout is apparently thanks to arrangements made by his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

The late Queen Elizabeth II’s mother bequeathed a staggering $90 million into a family trust fund, with a remarkable stipulation reported by The Times: Prince Harry is set to access his portion of this princely sum upon reaching the age of 40.

Still, Harry will have to pay tax on his future commercial earnings, the outlet adds.

The father of two, who escaped across the pond, is reportedly set to receive a whopping $8.5 million from his share — which is more than William is slated to get, per the New York Post.

For his share, William will benefit from the tax-exempt Duchy of Cornwall as the heir to the throne.

“William will benefit from the vast wealth of the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that funds the public, charitable, and private activities of the king’s heir,” a source told the outlet.

“As a result, Harry is likely to receive slightly more than half of the £14 million allocated for the brothers.”

This stellar sum of money will be a welcome addition to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s net worth, which currently sits comfortably at about $60 million. This amount was boosted thanks to all the high-profile projects the couple have taken on since quitting royal life in 2020 and moving to the US, despite talk of them flailing.

One might be thinking that this generous payout is slightly at odds with the relationship forged between the British royal family and Harry and Meghan Markle who upon setting up camp in Montecito, California, launched several attacks on Harry’s estranged relatives, causing a major rift between them and the Windsor clan.

The pair went on to sign on the dotted line for a series of tell-all projects, each of which revealed bombshell details about life in the palace. The talk of the ton has only ever been how post-interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Sussexes went on to release their six-part Netflix documentary, as well as Harry’s protocol-shattering memoir, Spare.

Somehow, for Harry and Meghan, all’s well without necessarily ending well.
