If you haven’t yet heard of the South African musical trio Biko’s Manna, you’re in for a real treat this morning.

If you also shed a tear of joy watching Mzansi Youth Choir wow international audiences via the America’s Got Talent stage, the three siblings who make up Biko’s Manna will steal your heart.

The family trio hails from Johannesburg and consists of 16-year-old Biko, 13-year-old Manna and 8-year-old Mfundo.

Clearly, musical talent runs in the family, as proud parents musician Ayanda Nhlangothi and singer Sebone Rangata can attest.

Biko’s Manna is no stranger to the spotlight, with the siblings amassing over 16 million likes on TikTok with recordings of their soulful renditions of classic tunes.

That being said, the trio of musicians are not just digital divas; while the oldest is merely 16, the singing squad has already toured the United States, performing across the country at prestigious creative events, including hugely successful shows at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville and the Festival of Nations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Now Biko’s Manna has returned to the US for one of their most exhilarating performances yet, gracing the America’s Got Talent stage with a personalised version of Bobby McFerrrin’s classic ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’.

With Manna strumming the team along on guitar, and the three voices melting together in sparkling harmonies, it’s a must-see performance. Special mention to 8-year-old Mfundo’s dance moves and ridiculously oulik smile.

The panel of judges, who are not easily won over, couldn’t help but be swept up in Biko’s Manna’s undeniable charm, and Heidi Klum gushed over the special performance.

“It was worth the trip, coming all the way from South Africa… I mean the sun just came up. I loved the three of you.”

Fellow judge, Howie Mandel, reckons these kids could eventually take home the R18 million, a sentiment clearly backed by the standing ovation Biko’s Manna received for ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’.

The future is in good hands if these are the youth leading the way. It may be winter in SA, but Biko, Manna and Mfundo are shining brighter than the summer sun, for all the world to see.
