World-renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli had fans choking up this week over a clip of the vocalist and his 12-year-old daughter singing a touching duet.
This isn’t the first time that Bocelli has flexed his family’s musical genetics, with his son Matteo joining his pops during the 2024 Oscars’ for a heartwarming rendition of ‘Time To Say Goodbye.’
This time ’round, however, Bocelli’s daughter Virginia has shot the family into TikTok virality with a clip of the father-daughter duo singing the classic ‘Hallelujah’ by Jeff Buckley.
The footage has Capetonians on the edge of their seats ahead of Bocelli’s world tour, which includes a stop off at our mother city to serenade fans at the DHL stadium. Tickets for the Cape Town show may have already sold out, but at least those of us who missed the deadline can revel in the footage of Bocelli and his family doing what they do best.
In addition, Bocelli’s exciting world tour will also feature shows in the UK, US and Poland, celebrating 30 years of Bocelli’s music. Three decades of bringing song to life is certainly something to be proud of. The lengthy celebratory tour also includes a surprising, yet exciting, show with pop superstar Ed Sheeran .
The clip of Bocelli and his daughter harmonising poignantly together went viral this past month, even though the footage is originally from November 2023, when the pair gave a live performance on the U.K.’s 21st season of Strictly Come Dancing.
Just when Bocelli couldn’t awe us even more, the clip proves that the silver fox of singing can belt it out while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar.
Musical prowess aside, there’s really nothing as heartwarming as seeing a proud father support his talented daughter.

Cue the tears! Just in time for Father’s Day.
Many fans in the comments section of the clip were particularly dumbfounded that so much artistic skill seemed to be oozing out of the entire Bocelli family, with some being adamant that these kinds of musical gifts must be hereditary.
While Virginia singing alongside her famous father may be a rare treat, it’s not entirely unprecedented. Virginia and her dad have performed ‘Hallelujah’ together on several occasions and each time they raise the bar. Their first performance of the song was in December 2020 at the Teatro Regio di Parma in Italy, and the father-daughter duo has since sung the tune at the White House Christmas party in 2021 and at the United Hatzalah Miami Gala in 2022.
Surely, a family album release isn’t too much to ask?
