Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the discovery of a 53-year-old woman’s body that was found on rocks near Oudekraal Beach between Camps Bay and Llandudno Monday.
Victoria Road was closed temporarily between Camps Bay and Llandudno yesterday as police descended on the scene.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the incident, saying that SAPS are still investigating.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are [the] subject of a police investigation. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” he added.
“A search and rescue operation is currently underway from the air, sea, and land,” the alert claimed, along with a photo of police and private security cars blocking the route at Oudekraal Beach.
Craig Lambinon from the NSRI also confirmed that they did not receive any reports of someone in trouble along the coast between Camps Bay and Llandudno, so until we get more information, it’s a mystery.
Oudekraal Beach is part of the Table Mountain National Park, located in a cove between Llandudno and Bakoven, and is a popular spot for families to braai and swim.
