Onlookers were baffled after an unknown young oke accidentally drove his car into the ocean at Oceana Power Boat Club in Granger Bay, near the V&A Waterfront, on Sunday.

According to witnesses, the car slid down the slipway after the guy ‘accidentally’ drove down to the water’s edge.

Video of the incident circulated online and showed the oke being helped from the car and then swimming towards the slipway as his car bobs around before going down in the drink. Members of the boat club managed to retrieve the car afterwards.

Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, but onlookers were baffled as to why, and how, the car ended up in the water.

“Someone just drove in. But why the f*ck they’re driving so recklessly? Honestly, it’s their own fault,” a woman exclaimed after witnessing the bizarre incident.
