Get ready to be swept off your feet, dearest readers, as the highly anticipated new season of Bridgerton premieres on Netflix on May 16.
While you prepare to dive back into the sumptuous world of Regency-era romance, where scandalous secrets, tantalising twists, and heart-pounding passion await, you might as well add some cocktail recipes into the mix.
This season promises to deliver even more drama, dazzling ballrooms, and unforgettable characters as new romances ignite and old rivalries resurface, with a specific focus on Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
The stakes are higher and the love stories are more compelling than ever. To make your viewing experience even more enchanting, why not indulge in a range of cocktails inspired by the series? Sip on a ‘Lady Bridgerton’, a ‘Dearest Reader’ or a ‘High Society’ cocktail as you immerse yourself in the most captivating social season of the year.
Starting off with the sophisticated ‘Lady Bridgerton’:
Found at Americana Bar at Loews Coral Gables Hotel, per Forbes, this cocktail is made with a blend of Seedlip Garden, fresh pineapple juice, lemon juice and simple syrup, garnished with a cucumber ribbon.
Director of Food & Beverage Tareq Shaban, says: “Sophisticated, crisp and clean, this alcohol-free cocktail from our Free Spirited by Loews selection is perfect for raising a glass to a fresh social season, all while staying sharp to catch the latest gossip throughout The Ton.”
The Dearest Reader:
At Golden Hour Wine Bar & Social Club, the Dearest Reader is a limited-edition cocktail made with gin, Earl Grey tea, brown butter, and lemon served in a very appropriate teapot, perfect for setting the mood.
Hit the Milnerton market if you don’t have an appropriately ornate teapot.
High Society:
This Bridgerton-inspired cocktail that marries the floral sophistication of Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin with lavender simple syrup, St Germaine’s Elderflower Liqueur, lemon juice, and egg whites was first concocted at Beach House Social at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Navarre Beach:
“Who doesn’t love feeling like a duchess while watching the show? This drink’s the liquid version of that vibe, fit for Netflix binges or fancy gatherings!” said Carissa Jones, Director of Food & Beverage.
Lastly, the Illuminate Within:
Lady Loutrel’s Afternoon Tea is a Bridgerton-inspired tea found on the rooftop at one of Charleston’s The Loutrel, serving a cocktail called The Illuminate Within, made with Sweet Grass vodka, jasmine green tea syrup, and soda water.
“Our cocktail features a jasmine green tea base which balances delicately with a hint of lime – we like to think it’s reminiscent of the gardens and florals of Bridgerton and an excellent sip for a promenade on The Loutrel’s rooftop,” said bartender Lisa DeMoe, Lead Bartender at The Loutrel.
