Just in time for cozy series-watching weather in South Africa, HBO Max has unveiled the official trailer for the highly anticipated second season of House Of The Dragon.

The trailer hints at the dramatic conflict left unresolved at the end of the first season, showcasing the fierce rivalry between Aegon II (played by Tom Glynn-Carney) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (portrayed by Emma D’Arcy) as they vie for the Iron Throne.

This power struggle ignites the Targaryen civil war, famously known as the Dance of the Dragons.

In the trailer, viewers are shown The Blacks, led by Rhaenyra and Daemon (Matt Smith), strategising an invasion of King’s Landing to seize the Iron Throne from The Greens, commanded by Aegon.

The preview teases the audience with glimpses of the impending, brutal, and fiery conflict, including a notable scene featuring a journey to The Wall. We fondly remember seeing Jon Snow make the trek to The Wall in Game of Thrones, and now we are blessed with a more juicy back story in the second season of the prequel series to HBO’s acclaimed Game of Thrones.

Adapted from George R. R. Martin’s 2018 novel ‘Fire & Blood,’ House of the Dragon was renewed for a second season just five days after the premiere of season one in August 2022 – it was that good.
