We South Africans simply love a good cuppa coffee.
It’s no surprise that Cape Town was recently named as one of the top 10 cities for grabbing a caffeinated brew, considering you can grab a cuppa joe at one of the cafes dotted on almost every street corner.
While it’s no secret we’re proud of our brew, a cafe in Langebaan recently took this passion to the next level with artistic renderings of customers atop hot cappuccinos.
The hyper-realistic portraits have drawn new and old customers alike, and have shot the cafe Wunderbar into online fame.
While the frothy artistic impressions may look like AI, this is one of the rare times we can confirm that this is the real deal.

Wunderbar’s Esti Teale explained that the creative concept started when the cafe manager was spending long periods hand-crafting personalised barista art for customers.
To save time and simultaneously not compromise on the unique customer experience at Wunderbar, the team invested in a special printer that allows hi-def images to be immortalised in milk froth.
The best part? The artwork is completely complimentary with your beverage! Esti and the team are dedicated to bringing the gees to SA’s already-booming cafe culture.
“We believe that life must be fun and full of surprises, by being innovative and looking for new fun things to do all the time, we not only keep our clients happy but also our staff,” Esti beamed.
