Robert Irwin, the son of the late Australian animal activist and zookeeper Steve Irwin, otherwise known as ‘Crocodile Hunter’, has been documenting his trip to South Africa, and shared some sweet footage of a ‘home intruder’.
The 20-year-old dude is in the country to film the reality TV series I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, having followed in his dad’s footsteps with his passion for animals and conservation, per The South African.
In a clip posted on his Instagram profile, Irwin Junior shared a behind-the-scenes look at his time in South Africa, where he was confronted by a little-known petty thief in his room.
“This is why you lock your doors in South Africa…😂”, he captioned the post, not fully realising that he was actually pretty lucky to have received this particular end of the crime bargain in the country.
Yes, the uninvited guest is indeed a monkey.

Not Robert politely asking the animal “Alright, can you please exit the premises? I don’t need you in my bathroom, mate” only for the monkey to actually oblige and leave through the open door.
Saffas in the comments section found Robert’s gentle approach to the fluffy home invader rather amusing, advising on better, more effective ways to chase the unwanted company away:
“The correct terminology is yelling ‘voetsek.’”
“Man was not taught the most important South African phrase…‘tsek’”
Besides the close-call daylight robbery, Robert seems to have had a fantastic time in South Africa:

Since his father, Steve Irwin’s tragic death in 2006 – caused by a short-tail stingray barb striking him while filming a TV special in the Great Barrier Reef – Robert, along with his mother and sister Bindi, has been keeping his legacy alive.
Speaking to Australian Women’s Weekly in February, marking his father’s 62nd birthday, Robert said: “There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think: ‘Gosh, I wonder what I’d ask Dad if he was here.'”
Losing a father figure at such a young age will always leave a hole in the heart, but that hasn’t stopped Robert from chasing his dreams and living a life as large as his dad’s.
