The Duchess of Sussex unveiled her jam to the world last month.
Meghan Markle launched the first product from her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard and it seems as though her close friends were the first to get their hands on what the ex-royal has been working on.
Some of her besties rushed to social media to show off the jam jars they’d received from the royal – which boasted major exclusivity with each jar tallying the number ‘__ of 50’ – AKA, only 50 people were blessed and lucky enough to receive Meghan’s special preserves.
Per the New York Post, PR expert Mayah Riaz said that so far, the jams have been sent to only 50 people, which suggests that it will be an exclusive and limited edition item:
“It has already been reported a single jam jar could cost three figures. I believe that is entirely likely from what we have seen so far. This is not rare for a celebrity brand.”
“Therefore, my estimation is that American Riveria Orchard in under a year could make Meghan seven figures. It is entirely possible for the brand to make multi-seven figures by the end of next year,” the PR guru added.
Designer Tracy Robbins, who became buddies with Markle after going to the One Love film premiere in Jamaica earlier this year, proudly displayed her jam jar gifted by the Duchess.
Robbins was “17 of 50”, while Argentinian model Delfina Blaquier, who is the wife of Prince Harry’s close friend and polo player Nacho Figueras, is clearly a closerer friend with the “10 of 50” jar:
Lucky number 13 happened to be Kris Jenner:
Kris also showed off a handwritten note with her name, which was written by the Duchess of Sussex. Markle previously worked as a calligrapher from 2004 to 2005, even writing the invitations for Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s wedding in 2005.
Meghan’s haters were quick to slam her on X (formerly Twitter) once Jenner was confirmed to have made the cut.
“Kris Jenner shows off #MeghanMarkle’s AMAZING handwriting/calligraphy! Sheesh!” one person wrote. “Meghan Markle could not sink any lower. Nobody decent will have any thing to do with her,” another commenter posted.
Another shared: “Does Meghan truly expect Kris Jenner to be impressed by strawberry jam in a bowl of bruised lemons and shredded paper? This whole business venture is a lemon. Does anyone believe she’ll ever actually sell jam?”
The 42-year-old wannabe Martha Stewart also sent a basket with her jam and lemons to stars such as Chrissy Teigen, Mindy Kaling, Tracee Ellis Ross, Abigail Spencer and more.
It is said that the brand’s name is a sweet nod to Santa Barbara, California, as it has been nicknamed the ‘American Riviera’ for over a century. It is also where she lives with Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Markle might have found inspiration from her father-in-law King Charles, whose Duchy of Cornwall estate has been selling its jam at top grocery stores in the UK for years. Why the royals need to milk more money from the citizens with jam is beyond me.
The American Riviera Orchard website is currently blank, only asking visitors to provide their email if they want to be notified about “products, availability, and updates” from the brand.
A trademark application reveals the brand plans to sell tableware, drinkware including decanters, kitchen linens and edible treats such as jellies, marmalade and jams.
Here, have some jam to get the weekend pumping.
