An unknown couple has put Mzansi in a tizzy after splurging millions on not just one, but two luxury Rolls-Royces.
The much-admired event went viral when photos and videos were shared of the couple making the deal worth a combined R4 million at the popular Sandton dealership.
The short clip shows a woman’s ecstatic surprise when her partner shows off the two purchases made at Pharoah Auto Investments in Sandton.
“As far as surprises go, it doesn’t get much better than this!! Not One but Two Rolls Royces side by side,” said the dealer. “We live for these special moments we get to share with clients.”
The dealership ensured quite the spectacle was made around the purchase, with staff members serenading the couple as if they’d just graduated from a major degree. I suppose this is some kind of level-up.

Interestingly, the man in the video had his back to the camera the whole time, keeping his identity nicely under wraps. Fair enough, but why is your girl’s face put out there then?
Of course, the mystery of the man just added the speculation around the unidentified couple, with folks on social media trying to connect the dots about who they are and how they could afford two luxury branded sedans.
One popular X user Thuso alleged the couple that bought two Rolls-Royces was among the three lucky winners of the R131 million Powerball jackpot.

Earlier this week, IOL confirmed that three entries had won the R131 million jackpot, with the winnings being split three ways. Rumour mill has it that this newly minted couple are from Bolobedu, Limpopo. The couple have yet to show face and confirm the rumours, though.
IOL notes that the two cars in question were a Rolls Royce Ghost Series I and a classic Silver Spirit II.
The latter, now something of a rarity, was marketed by Rolls Royce between 1989 and 1992, and was considered a significant upgrade over the Mark I, featuring real-time adjustable suspension damping.
The 5.27-metre-long Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II’s pushrod eight produces a relatively modest 179kW, powered by a 6.75-litre V8 engine.
The more modern Rolls Royce seen here is the Ghost Series I, which was sold between 2009 and 2014, sharing its platform with the BMW 7 Series and sporting a 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 good for 419kW.
Although the dealership would not reveal how much the couple spent on the two cars, classifieds with two Series I Ghost models for sale show a 2011 model listed at R3.6 million and a 2021 one advertised at R4.3 million. The Silver Spirit model seems to have a base price tag of R540,000 in several dealerships worldwide.
The sleek sedans’ prices have probably just ballooned over the years thanks to their exclusivity, with several dealerships worldwide selling them on a POA basis.
