Hailey Beiber is still reeling from the “unbearable scrutiny” on social media after her father, Stephen Baldwin, reposted a message requesting prayers for her and her hubby, suggesting they were struggling in their marriage.

The couple tied the knot in 2018, just months after they reconnected following their February 2016 split, and have since had one of the more high-profile marriages in the celeb world.

Baldwin sparked concern about their relationship in February when he posted a strange story on Instagram. He shared a post from Victor Marx, founder of All Things Possible Ministries, that featured a video of the “Peaches” singer playing the guitar and singing along to ‘I Could Sing of Your Love Forever’ by Delirious? and the Hillsong Worship.

“Christians, please when you think of Justin & Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection and to draw close to the Lord,” Marx wrote atop the clip.

In the caption, Victor said that his wife, Eileen Marx, and Hailey’s mom, Kennya Baldwin, “often pray together” for the young couple.

Though Stephen reposted the message to his Instagram Stories, he did not offer any additional context on what Hailey and Justin were going through.

However, an insider exclusively told In Touch that Hailey just needs a break and is considering asking Justin for a trial separation:

“Hailey’s struggling,” explains the source. “She just needs time to sort things out on her own.”

This all started happening shortly after Hailey faced rumours that she was having an affair with a billionaire, which she insisted were concocted “out of thin air”. All that has been compounded by health scares over the past few years, including Hailey’s ministroke and Justin’s diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which saw him cancelling his tour and spending more time at home.

Now, says the source, “Hailey just wants to live by herself for a while.”

In 2021, the model opened up about a rough patch, elaborating on how Justin’s journey to sobriety challenged their marriage.

“I remember I called [my mom] a few different times, one particular time [when] we were in Brooklyn and I was calling her, crying, and I was like, ‘I just can’t do it. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever,’” she explained during an episode of the “In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith” podcast in November 2021. “And I just remember she was so calm on the phone and she was like, ‘It’s going to pass, you’re going to be fine and he’s going to be healthy and we’re here for you.’”

Hailey added: “But I also just think I was in it. I made a decision. I know for a fact that I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him. I just wouldn’t do that to him.”

She’s still not ready to give up, says the insider.

“Hailey’s not asking for a divorce. She knows Justin feels hurt and confused, but she feels lost too. She just needs a break.”

Despite her wanting some time away, Hailey celebrated her husband’s birthday when he turned 30 on March 1.

She also acknowledged their five-year wedding anniversary on social media in September 2023.

Earlier this month, the pair attended Super Bowl LVIII together after Justin was rumoured to be joining Usher onstage during the halftime show.

At one point, the pop star gave his wife a smooch on the cheek when they were shown on the jumbotron’s kiss cam during the game.
