Sami Hall is a Saffa through and through.

She has one helluva accent, and an opinion about almost everything under the South African sun, including the Springboks, biltong, road rage and load-shedding. She also has a decent argument for never emigrating from South Africa.

She’s from Kempton Park, which is what’s up with the accent. Someone commented on TikTok that they hate her accent, but they must clearly have forgotten the much-loved Wimpy advert from days gone by. You know, the one where Henry impresses his date with the drink names from the menu, like the very unsexy macchiato, to which she says, “Ag Henry, I love it when you talk foreign”.

If you loved the ad, then you surely can’t get enough of Sami’s unique way of speaking. Especially when she starts venting about all the things we can totally relate to, like being duped by Eskom or someone taking unnecessary pauses in the conversation.

The South African revealed that Sami was born in the now spooky Kempton Park hospital before it was closed in the 90s – which might explain some things:

Sami Hall says she is an influencer ‘with a bite’, with well over 121,000 followers on TikTok, but she’s also a published author and comedian.

Sami – not to be confused with the gospel music singer Sammy Hall – also owns her own store called Mieliepap Plaaswinkel where she sells things like mugs and hoodies with her catchphrases on them.
