It’s not every day that you’re casually scrolling through your phone and a leopard walks into the room.
But that is exactly what happened to 12-year-old Mohit Ahire from the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
The little dude was inside an office room in a wedding hall in Nashik district when a leopard strolled past him and into the room. Thanks to Ahire’s quick thinking, he was able to escape the wild animal without a scratch on him, reported Hindustan Times. He immediately jumped up and exited the room, closing the door behind him (and he even remembered to take his phone).
“The leopard was so close. There was hardly any space between the leopard and me. It walked into the inner cabin of the office right in front of me. I was scared, but I quietly got off the bench and sneaked out of the office. I closed the door behind me,” said Ahire to TOI.
The wild animal didn’t seem to see Ahire at all, allowing him to escape and lock the animal in the room.

Anil Pawar, the wedding hall owner, revealed that the leopard was spotted earlier, and the police and forest officials were searching for it. Once Ahire informed his father how he locked the wild animal in his office, Pawar quickly called the concerned authorities.
Officials from the forest department later tranquillised and relocated the leopard into a forest.
Good work and quick thinking, Ahire!
